Date: Thursday, December 17, 2015
DES MOINES, Iowa--The Iowa Mentoring Partnership, a collaborative program of Volunteer Iowa, launched a newly redesigned website which serves as the central hub for information on youth mentoring in the state of Iowa. The website, which can be found at https://www.iowamentoring.org, uses a responsive design enabling visitors to use their smartphones or tablets with the same functionality as visitors using a desktop computer.
“The new website will provide public and private stakeholders with quality information in a user-friendly format,” said Mary Sheka, Iowa Mentoring Partnership Director. “Keeping our website up-to-date with the latest technology while providing user-friendly functionality is important to us, especially with the increasing dependence on mobile devices in today’s culture.”
Visitors can access information about becoming a mentor and connecting with a local high quality youth mentoring program. Visitors can also easily find the latest mentoring news, research and resources. The website was redesigned in partnership with Iowa Interactive, LLC, of Des Moines. The Iowa Mentoring Partnership and Iowa Interactive operate under a self-funded model in which no additional tax dollars were used to develop or maintain the website.
The Iowa Mentoring Partnership website is the tenth state agency to implement Iowa Interactive’s content management system (CMS). In addition to the CMS product, Iowa Interactive manages the state’s official Web portal, Iowa.gov, and specializes in other online government applications.
